Custom Creations
Custom designed jewellery begins with an idea. Perhaps you just can’t find what you are looking for, or you want something that is uniquely yours. Step 1 - Find Your Style Find a picture in a magazine or from the internet that is close to what you want or draw it out and scan it so that you could e-mail us the image. Contact us by calling 403-526-0467 Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm MST. Along with your faxed (403-526-0466) or e-mailed (johan@golddustjewellery.com) picture, we can give you an estimated cost and delivery time for your item. Step 2 - Choices, Choices, Choices ... Metal Will the item be made of Sterling Silver, Yellow or White gold or Platinum; 10K gold or 14K? Prices vary a great deal depending upon which metal you choose. Discuss your options with us. Stones Colored stones come in genuine or synthetic varieties and in any size and shape you may desire. The design will dictate how many stones you will need and their size. Prices will vary. Diamonds Are you looking for round, marquis or princess cut? Princess cut are square diamonds while marquis are rectangular. The carat, or size, will also depend on the piece chosen. As a general rule, the bigger the more expensive, but clarity also comes into consideration. We usually suggestSI1-diamonds with slight inclusions. Pricing Once all the decisions are made we can talk price. Do you have a specific amount you want to spend? In most instances, we can alter any or all of the above choices so that the item fits your budget- within reason. Recycling We can melt down your old gold from jewellery you no longer wear and reuse the stones and diamonds. Not only will it reduce your personal footprint on the environment, but it will save you money as well! Step 3 - Viewing / Finishing Computer Generated Image The next step is to put your design into the computer and generate a picture of how the finished product will look. The image is e-mailed back to you for your approval. At this stage changes may easily be made to the design until it is exactly what you envisioned. Visit our “collections” page to view some examples of computer generated images. Wax Carving The computer generated image is then sent to the milling machine to carve the design into a 3D wax replica of your piece of jewellery. For an additional fee the wax may be sent to you for final approval. No further changes may be made at this point in the process. Casting The wax is now fired in an oven covered in investment. The wax melts leaving and impression in the hardened casting mold into which the molten metal is poured. The result is a mirror image of the computer generated photograph now a reality in your gold or silver of choice. Finishing And Stone Setting Our goldsmiths will now hand polish and finish the piece until it shines as only a quality piece of jewellery can. Your chosen stones are set to your specifications making it a truly unique statement of luxury. Contact Us today for a price quote or for more information on creating your vision. |
